FSI Elects Five New Directors to its 2016 Board & New Executive Committee Officers

The Financial Services Institute (FSI) today announced the election of five new Directors for its Board for 2015. The Board also elevated four of its Directors to new leadership positions. The FSI Board stands at 17 Directors.

The five new members of the FSI Board of Directors are:

  • Kent Christian, President, Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network
  • Shawn McLaughlin, President and CEO, McLaughlin Ryder Investments
  • James Poer, President & CEO, NFP Advisor Services
  • Kimberly Kropp, Owner, Moylan Kropp Retirement Planning (financial advisor)
  • Bill Dowell, Founder & President, Vision Financial Group (financial advisor)

“Our Board is strong and diverse, and adding these five visionary leaders will ensure our members are well represented,” said FSI President & CEO Dale Brown. “Our critical advocacy agenda benefits firms and advisors of all sizes and business models – and our Board of Directors reflects that diversity and shares our passion for doing what’s right for our members and investors.”

In addition to the new Directors, FSI also elected Amy Webber, President of Cambridge Investment Research, as the Chair of the Board, where she will serve a one-year term. In addition, FSI elected Richard Lampen, President and CEO of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services, to serve as Vice Chair of the Board in 2016, and Chair of the Board in 2017. David Knoch, President & COO of 1st Global, was elected to Finance Committee Chair. And Dean Harman, Founder and CEO of Harman Wealth Management, was elected to serve as FSI PAC Board Chair. Adam Antoniades, President of Cetera Financial Group, will be the Immediate Past Chair.

Continuing on the Board: In addition to those elevated to leadership positions, continuing on the Board are Steve Chipman, Foothill Securities; Scott Curtis, Raymond James Financial Services; Joe Himelick (financial advisor); Tony LaJeunesse (financial advisor); Seth Miller, Transamerica Financial Advisors; John Rooney, Commonwealth; David Stringer, Prospera Financial Services.

Rolling off the Board: Rick Carlson (financial advisor); Tim Murphy, Investors Capital; Clive Slovin, The Strategic Financial Alliance; Mike Mungenast (financial advisor).
