FSI Statement on 2024 Election Results
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Financial Services Institute (FSI) President & CEO Dale Brown released the following statement in response to the outcome of the 2024 election:
“We congratulate President-Elect Donald Trump and Vice President-Elect JD Vance on their election, as well as all national, state and local lawmakers elected by the American voters. As always, we are committed to engaging constructively with policymakers on both sides of the aisle to promote policies that support independent financial advice and help American families achieve their financial goals.”
FSI is ready to work with the new administration and incoming Congress on policies that protect Main Street Americans’ access to affordable, professional financial advice, including:
- Securing financial advisors’ choice to be independent and not an employee of their broker-dealer or RIA;
- Advancing legislation that makes financial services more obtainable by hard-working Americans, such as making financial advisory fees tax deductible again; and
- Creating a healthier, more business-friendly regulatory environment that allows firms and advisors to best serve their clients and addresses the harmful trend of regulation by enforcement.
About the Financial Services Institute (FSI): The Financial Services Institute (FSI) is the only organization advocating solely on behalf of independent financial advisors and independent financial services firms. Since 2004, through advocacy, education and public awareness, FSI has successfully promoted a more responsible regulatory environment for over 80 independent financial services firm members and their 130,000+ affiliated financial advisors – which comprise over 60% of all producing registered representatives. We effect change through involvement in FINRA governance as well as constructive engagement in the regulatory and legislative processes, working to create a healthier regulatory environment for our members so they can provide affordable, objective advice to hard-working Main Street Americans.
