One of the great things about FSI OneVoice is its place on the calendar. Typically held in late January, it provides members a chance to take stock of the previous 12 months and lay out goals for the year ahead.
That opportunity to reset isn’t just worthwhile – it’s necessary. That’s why we are happy to introduce FSI Exchange, our new, mid-year event that will allow financial advisors and firm executives to refresh and prepare for what’s ahead.
This gathering – which will take place July 18–20 for a few hours each day – is a forum for FSI members to come together, engage in peer discussions and hear experts speak about a variety of topics. And the great news is that FSI Exchange is virtual, so you can participate from wherever you are this summer. Here are some of the highlights.
- July 18 – During the general session, the Washington Update’s Andy Friedman will provide a nonpartisan, comprehensive review of the current political and economic landscape and its potential effects on taxes and investing. This will be followed by concurrent sessions geared to financial advisors (“Advocacy Engagement Best Practices”) and firm executives (“SEC and FINRA Enforcement Developments: What Has Changed and What’s Ahead?” and “Engagement Insights: Strategies & Trends in a Changed Workplace”)
- July 19 – FSI President & CEO Dale Brown and Tim Stinson, Cetera Networks President and FSI Board member, will open the day’s sessions by talking about the importance of mentorships and creating career paths for young people in underserved communities. During this short, high-impact discussion, Mr. Stinson will share how Cetera engaged with FSI partner INROADS to help achieve its talent objectives and source next-gen talent. Advisors and firm executives will then participate in round table discussions relevant to their roles. Topics include cybersecurity, work automation, succession planning, the SEC marketing rule and more.
- July 20 – FSI Exchange will conclude with an Advancing Women in Leadership Workshop led by Dr. Summer Allen. Dr. Allen is a partner with the Center for Workforce Excellence and the owner of Premier Performance Consulting, a management consulting firm specializing in improving employee and organizational performance. The workshop will feature conversations and exercises to help you design and implement a sponsorship program that fosters professional development and broad positive awareness.
